Mom Life Balance
It is so hard finding the perfect balance between being a mother and practically everything else. There needs to be a balance between mom life and self-care, mom life and work life, mom life and social life, etc. What is even harder is finding people who can relate to you. Those people are out there, and they sure do exist but it’s hard finding the time to find them.
I feel like no one understands what I go through on a daily basis. I try my best to keep it all together but inside I feel like I’m drowning. If my hectic day doesn’t get the best of me my anxiety sure will! Groceries, cleaning, work, sports, music lessons, field trips, teenage attitudes, the list goes on! I’ve begun to think that the perfect balance doesn’t really exist. One week I have it all together and the next…. some small change sabotages it all, but you know what?
- Adaptability: This is my number one first and foremost. I have learned to adapt to the changing world around me because no matter what, things change. It is what it is. What my daughter is interested in today she will hate next week. I’ve been taking lunch at 1pm for weeks but now it has changed to 11am or 2pm. I had time for the gym a few days ago but today I don’t. You need to learn to make the most of your current situation. Now I’m not saying that you can’t make changes in your life, but if you’re in a tight spot you can either stress or take it with a grain of salt.
- Find comfort in the chaos: Life is going to be tough but realizing that the days are long, and the years are short has helped me tremendously. The kids are running around but I’m going to watch them as I’m drinking my coffee! They won’t be little forever and I know I will miss these days.
